The Unimaginary Friend

Theo was an imaginary buddy of Emily's when she was younger.

He was there all the time, sharing adventures and whispering secrets. 

But like dust under a rug, Theo vanished as she grew older.

Years later, she discovered an old notepad in the attic one rainy evening.

It was 2 '0' clock in the morning.

 It was filled with drawings—of Theo.

But the drawings weren’t from her childhood. They were recent.

The last page read: You forgot me, Emily. But I never forgot you.

Suddenly, a knock echoed from downstairs. 

 No one should be there.

A voice murmured from the doorway, "Emily, it's me."
